Good ole Wille Shakespeare once wrote “The sins of the father are to be laid upon the children.” And when you think about that, it’s so true on a large scale. There are many ways you can see this, but one of the more enjoyable ways is to listen closely to Billy Joel’s “We didn’t start the Fire.” This song takes you through the more recent history of this world, thru mentioning some of the more ‘newsworthy’ happenings of the various decades. My favorite line in the song is…”We didn’t start the fire, it’s been always burning since the worlds been turning…we didn’t start the fire, but when we are gone will it still burn on?”
A very good question indeed. Does it really have to keep burning? Really?
If you really want to know more, find a copy of the lyrics, and match up the happening to the date it happened. Create your own timeline. It’s a very compact version of history, which should be popular in this fast pace world.
You know what…just watch this, it will help.
